Today I...
  • went to the gym before work (elliptical, crunches).
  • designed table tents to publicize the Libraries' social media sites.
  • interviewed 4 candidates for Chancellor's admin asst.
  • attended 2 of 3 (thought-provoking) TEDxKC presentations @ Nelson-Atkins.
  • attended KC Mag Best of KC Awards (atrocious event - but food was good).
  • started & ended the day w/ the egoists of Miami Social.

    the worst event of this type I've ever been to. the reason magazines do these type of things is to make the winners and nominees(advertisers, current or future) feel special. kc mag folks conducted the entire "ceremony" in under 20 min. they didn't read the names of nominees, only flashed them on a screen for 5 seconds, then didn't even let then winners walk across the stage. on top of all that - you had to really strain your ears to hear what was being said. really a missed opportunity on their part.
